Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our Department of Medical Physics as Medical Dosimetrist I. This is an entry level position and exciting opportunity for new graduates and those with less than two years of full-time dosimetrist experience. You will work onsite for the first 6 months and then are eligible to transition to a hybrid work model.

Role Overview:

You will provide treatment planning support for patients undergoing external beam radiotherapy, working closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, and therapists.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certification or eligibility for certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB).
  • An understanding of physics principles, radiation therapy, and treatment planning processes.
  • Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations and the ability to resolve radiotherapy-related issues.
  • Knowledge of radiation dosimetry calibration and radiation physics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Core Skills:

  • Knowledge of treatment planning, dose calculation, and radiation therapy simulation.
  • Ability to obtain, interpret, and apply patient-specific information to develop accurate treatment plans.
  • Consult and collaborate effectively with radiation oncologists, therapists, and medical physicists.
  • Participate in quality assurance procedures, reviewing dose calculations, documentation, and patient records.
  • Stay current with new procedures, techniques, and technologies in the field of medical dosimetry.
  • Treat all patients and colleagues with the utmost respect, ensuring their unique needs are met.

Additional Information:

  • Work hours: Flexible hours between 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Location: One or several of the MSK campuses depending on clinical needs.
